Army of Frogs Studio brings together an exhilarating group of accomplished artists presenting contemporary painting, sculpture, and installation throughout the galleries and sculpture gardens.
As we enter the 2026 season, Army of Frogs Studio is excited to clear the slate, break things apart, and begin again.
Rip It Up and Start Again is an exhibition in which artwork grows and unfolds like a cultivated garden—layered, textured, unexpected, and alive with transformation. The artists work intuitively, mirroring the rhythms of organic growth as fragments, materials, colors, lines, and forms intertwine to create compositions filled with energy and meaning. Through this process, individual elements become something larger: a kind of visual alchemy in which disparate parts come together to form entirely new worlds.
These artists gather source material with curiosity and intensity, allowing the evidence of their process to remain visible within the finished work. Delicate edges suggest petals, stitched seams echo the veins of leaves, and overlapping forms tumble and spread like wild growth. Familiar and unexpected materials are transformed into vivid assemblages and sculptural environments. Contrasting textures, unusual combinations, and personal influences collide and resolve themselves into works that feel both discovered and deliberately constructed.
Reclaimed objects, fragments of memory, cultural references, and collected materials are brought together much like pigments on a palette. They mingle, overlap, and take root, creating visual bouquets for the viewer. Out of this rich and sometimes unruly material comes something new, individual, and alive.
Rip It Up and Start Again celebrates experimentation, process, imperfection, and the unexpected beauty that emerges when fragments are dismantled and brought together in new ways. It is an exhibition about transformation—the act of breaking apart, rebuilding, and allowing something unexpected to flourish.
Wait, and you will receive your bouquet.
Army of Frogs Studio is located in the historic hamlet of High Falls, New York. Rip It Up and Start Again transforms the gallery and grounds into a visual wonderland, bringing together a remarkable range of contemporary voices and approaches.
The opening reception and artist celebration will be held Friday, June 26, from 4–8 PM. The gallery and grounds will be open weekends and by appointment, with artist talks and informative tours taking place throughout the exhibition.
