VIRGINIA INÉS VERGARA

This collaboration between Elissa Levy and Virginia Inés Vergara was born from a shared interest in reinventing nature through an urban viewpoint. Levy’s sculpture remakes found and artificial rocks, crystals, and gems, with the outside world, blending culture with nature. Vergara's photographs utilize art and architectural history book images of gardens and landscapes, collaged to create new and impossible scenarios.

They gather images from their separate practices and re-photograph them as one, building a multi-layered dialogue. Their work together takes the viewer and immerses them into imaginary panoramas, which encourages the viewer to investigate and remap their own coordinates.
